Adding sound is difficult in this sort of game without it ending up in the cheesy section, further you have issues where you want it in a hideaway safe mode.

My last post for the day and I'll shut up, I swear: (also sorry if you guys don't like necro-posting)
I agree that SFX probably should not be added, for the reasons stated above, but I would like some BGMs (especially for boss fights and exploring/dungeon crawling) to make the fights more exciting or bone-chilling (whatever you want to go for in each area)

As far as I know, the board has two rules: - Be polite, and
- Off-topic goes in off-topic
Otherwise, don't worry about it Since we're on the subject - I'm always in two minds about music and SFX in a game like this. Done well, it can add an awful lot to a game. But doing it well is not so easy. it doesn't matter what music you choose, someone will hate it, and voice clips and moaning noises wear thin quite quickly. There is a good case for feedback sounds - clicks when a button is pressed, a small whoosh on a new screen... things like that. I'd have said that was easy to do well ... but the beeps clicks and whistles in slavemaker are the most annoying things in the world. So for my money, I'd say leave it silent, at least for now. Maybe once the major features are stable he can look at it again

That certainly makes sense about the button clicking, and I agree that for now leave it silent, and then for the "finished product" look into the little details like this.
Here's a thought, maybe a tutorial for adding in our own music to the BGM? That way we can tailor that to our own liking and no one else has to suffer if we choose poorly.
