Here:
www.mediafire.com/?39ve3xtvqlfcgfmAs for the sprite, for the current girls it only need 32 sprites, standing sprites and knocked out sprites unless there are more girls added or you want animation. For weapon, armor and other visible equipment it's easy to add, just place them above existing sprites and you will get Mugi in combat armor wielding spears or in mage robe holding a staff.
I'll make all the current 16 girls sprite if you planning to add them in the game, gonna be a lot of works but I think it will worth it. For you guys who want to make sprites for girls feel free to use the template.
You can get away with 12 images for basic walking. You need at-rest, left-foot-forward., mid-point, and right-foot-forward, but in practice at-rest and mid-point are the same image.
If armour and weapons are going to be floated on top, they're going to need their own sprites so they bob and change direction too.
[edit]
The sword and shield have other problems for sprites. The z-order changes depending on which direction the girl is facing. So if she's got the shield in her left hand, and she's walking east, then the the girl is rendered on top of the shield. If she's walking west then then the shield appears on top of the girl

I think we don't need to animate the sprites, especially for the exploration screen.. why? It is too much work to make a complete walking sprites. Say, for each direction you need to draw sprites at least 2 sprites, stand still and walking (left and right can be flip horizontally). We have 4 direction to walk, up down left right. Left and right can be rotated so we need 6 sprites for walking animation; up down and side. At the moment we have 16 girls, so we will need to manually drawn 96 sprites.. plus all kind of visible equipment.
Also, we already have a tutorial for all people who interested to create their own girls.. say, not everyone have the motivation and skills to draw sprites for their creation and probably they won't bother to create a detailed sprites or even they won't make a sprite at all.
Not that I don't want to make them all, but I won't be always available forever you know, so I think for sprites lets keep it simple so people who wants to create their own girls can also make the sprites easily. Afterall this game is not only about exploration and combat right?
Anyway, this is my suggestion for exploration and combat sprites:
ExplorationUse that tiny sprites I made for all the 16 current girls, for those who want to create their own girls and sprites for their girls can use my template. If they don't want to make their own sprite then the generic sprite for their girl will be displayed. For the generic girl sprites I thought it will be the same like displaying generic image for girls activity, ex: sprites for long black hair, short black hair; long blonde, short blonde; blue blonde, short blonde etc.
Also, sprite for exploration won't be animated.
CombatAt the moment I'll wait for Daisy's decision if he want to use my sprite template or not. But if he want, here's the idea:
Equipment, especially clothes/armor will be visible. We can make them in separate layer above the girl or make an already equipped sprites (although it will take a lot of sprites). Weapons and shield will be visible and it will be above the girl layer.
If people wants to create their own sprites for their girl creation, they only need to draw the hair of their girl on the combat sprite template. If they don't want to make the sprite, then it will display generic sprites (hair color, short/long).
Ex:
Here's a default combat sprite, people who want to make their own combat sprites only need to draw a hair and eye color over the sprite template.
Let's say you decide to equip a school uniform for the girl. The separate school uniform sprite will be displayed above the naked girl sprite.
--->
And then you want to change into something.
--->
Weapon and shield will also be displayed above the girl and clothes sprites.

As for visible equipment and weapon sprite I proposed this with each tier have their own sprites and Unique combat classes (such as paladin) will get additional sprite/appearance cosmetic:
Armor/clothesLight armor tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Heavy armor tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Robe tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Default (girl default clothes, displayed if equip doesn't match the category above.)
Unique sprite appearance for combat specialization classes.
WeaponsSword tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Dagger tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Spear tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Club/Mace tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Staff tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Round shield tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Kite shield tier 1 -> tier 2 -> tier 3
Again, I prefer no animation for them to keep making sprites simple for everyone. The animation is only for damage, attack, using magic, status ailment and using item in combat.
