Okay with the latest version you can't have more master bedrooms open than you have slaves.
Now, the issue becomes that it's harder to fiddle with things because it leads to being forced to shift things around.
Perhaps it would work better to ditch the "closet" that holds the extra assistant or yourself and add an extra master bedroom. Perhaps even some unique furniture options just for it.
However, at that point you can no longer move yourself or your assistants and each has a room of their own. This could also allow some assistant specific furniture (A heat lamp for the lamia, shrine for the angel, and similar things to that).
Add that you can only hire a number of assistants equal to the number of open master bedrooms you have available.
On top of that, once the campaign style games become available, your private bedroom gains other opportunities such as a trophy display or similar things.

I was under the impression that the "closet" represented more of the hallway between the rooms that your assistant or yourself patrolled to insure that the girls were doing what they were supposed to do rather then goofing off. It makes more sense to me that you have to have someone monitoring the other slaves.
though the idea of being able to collect trophies from quests and factions and be able to display them is intriguing.

You'd still need housing for your assistants if nothing else.
They may not even be spending the shifts entirely in those rooms anyway. With the bits of tech already there, cameras and other alarms seem like an easy way to view it, perhaps combined with minor paid staff.
After all, even without the slaves you are making money somehow to maintain the place and feed/clothe yourself.
