For the plant transformation I was thinking along the lines of each transformation having an increasing chance of the girl losing her mind and running off into the green. possibly then having a quest to go retrieve her.

I too like the item based transformation, that way if there is something about the transformation you don't like you are nto stuck with it, you can instead go for something else, like a cat girl wioth fary wings instead of multiple breasts.

I don't like the idea with the item based transformation... Everything you do should have their consequences. If you had transformed your girl into a cow (or something else), you can change her into a cow-cat, but you can't transform her back into a full human... (Or it should be really expensive to transform her back) If you want a game, where you can change your girl every second into something else, you can play a dress up game. Just my opinion...

I think the availability/cost and method of transformation should be tied to what kind of transformation. for example the green cultists use transformation as a kind of recruitment method and therefor should be cheap and easy to obtain, however have major drawbacks in mental health and possible loss of slave. Others should only be gained through quests or given as rewards for favor with factions.
I understand that not everyone will be interested in transformations but that would be no reason for not including it. The game is going to be so big you could easily avoid things you are not interested in.

first I don't think green cultist would be easy or useful more like a punishment unless you manage to some how get a positive reputation with them.
I was figuring that there should be a shop just for transformations similar to tattoo parlor. Where most of the transformations would be available. some more obscure ones would probably still need questing tho.
I would say that certain transformations (the common or accepted as relatively normal ones like cat ears) are cheaper. About the same price as a similar item (50-200g) the more exotic the transformation the more expensive it becomes (robotic skin or angel wings might run you 1000g or more from the shop). Reverting the transformation to baseline human would cost the transformations cost again. thus adding or getting rid of say cat ears would be about 100g. both transformation would still have the happiness and sanity loss.
I do agree with tantor that once this game is said and done (if ever) there should be enough to do that you can bypass fetishes you don't like.

As regards a "transformation shop", the technologists guild in Scrapyard have some experiments in genetic resequencing that they're just itching to perform. If only they could find a test subject ... Maybe there'll be quests to unlock some treatments
That said, from what Daisy posted earlier, I think the plan is to do transformations based on class. So I think any items, potions, treatments and the like would have the effect of unlocking the class rather than instantly transforming the girl. You'd still need to have her perform some related activity until the class event triggered.

here are some templates for the item slots that the trans formations take up. The darker one is for slaves the slighter one for assistants and PCs. These maybe to dark let me know and I will change them. going with missinglynx's idea that the transformation should take up appropriate item slots. Attachments:

Regarding catsfight's stuff: the idea that progressively more transformations might be progressively more expensive is a good one. I still like to customise which ones I want (so if I want all of the catgirl transformations except extra breasts, I could simply buy all of the transformation items except that one), but maybe we can take level to just mean the number of transformations.
So, for instance, you have a girl you want to turn more feline-y, you buy the appropriate items, lock them into place and then go visit the transformation wizard or whatever. The first one costs 1000g and has 100% effect rate. The second transformation, no matter what it is, costs another 1000g but 10% of the time the transformation doesn't work (no refunds!). That makes picking and choosing not only what transformations you want but the order in which you want them a little more important.
Those numbers could be modified, too. Maybe having Catgirl training maxed to 100 gives you a 10% bonus to catgirl transformations, or having the T2 catgirl trainings maxed out makes it 100% likely for some of the transformations to stick (there is no T2 catgirl yet, of course, but if we switch to cowgirl, maybe once you've maxed out milking, you have a 100% chance of the Udders transformation working).
