@flagnine: saber has 2 swords, caliburn and excalibur. The one you are referring is the first one, and in F S/N it was provided temporarily by shirou's "sword materialize" power, that is the sword that killed all off berseker's remaining lifes with a single strike. The second one is her invisible sword that when you release its power it releases a beam like power that does a lot of damage. Thats the one im referring, its overkill on small fry but I doubt it could kill a boss enemy on a single blow unless it is weak enough.

Saber, when you examine the entire nasuverse, has a small armory of swords to choose from.
To be honest, we can sidestep the issue of an overpowered 1-hit KO issue by making her special 'Avalon,' granting her immunity of steep damage reduction for several turns. Of course, this may be overpowered if there are quests which focus on surviving several rounds of combat.

In the case that it may be over powered you could do a lighter damage reduction (say 25% as opposed to 50% for sake of example), but then have it reflect damage for a few turns.

I think we're best off approaching this problem from the direction of game balance, rather than being faithful to the source material.
Otherwise, every anime that has a big dramatic finish is going to wind up with a girl weilding some sort of ultimate weapon, and if we're not careful we're going to get inflation setting in as each new girl has to be better than the one before.
I think this is the reason that a lot of the Whoremaster girls are so over-the-top.
So, ideally, it would be helpful to assume that each girl's special is the best attack in her world, and that they're all more or less equal to one another, in power levels if not in special effects. And we probably need to assume that a lot of the bosses out there are similarly bad-ass having been the nastiest big-bad in their own world of origin.
Otherwise, balancing this thing is going to be an ongoing nightmare

docclox: fair enough, well I was asuming that there are strong and weak bosses too. But overall they should be inmune to to autokill and some status change and other effects. Anyway, as I stated on some of my sugested skills they must be obtained through quests (the more powerfull the skill, the more reason that it must be quested to unlock it and the harder the quest should be). back to the skill sugestions: *super* Invention summoner roulette - Lala deviluke's exclusive skill. It's a completely random skill. (you can include whatever effect you would like to implement).

After reading the Prime story development thread, I think a good way to marry the two would be to have the quest for unlocking the attacks be associated with the background stories of each individual prime.
Something like, find out about the origin of the prime you're with, and in the process unlocking her special attack for walking down memory lane. Could even toss in some bosses during the quest who would be copies or phantoms of their original advisories, something/one that provides an inspiration for "remembering" the attack. (In a mind-game kind of way if that makes any sense)
Using the Saber example, her boss could be either Gilgamesh or Berserker or even Shirou (in the sense that he could help train her as opposed to actually fight her for that moment).
Now for an actual attack suggestion:
Present for you - on the target you select (friendly or enemy) a RNG would determine if it damages the target or heals them for a set amount. (could be an unlockable skill for any slave with sufficient affection for you)

Yeah.
Dark: I think it is perfectly sensible that these skills would have related quests. To be honest, I'm relatively certain that was the original suggestion.

Ah my bad for repeating the idea then.

No need to apologize, I'm just agreeing with you (and the original idea).

If you do go forward with the prime only special attacks (which i hope you do as it sounds awesome) then it would be really great if the attacks looked like complete and utter overkill. Doesnt mean the attacks need to do 99999...etc damage as thats ridiculous but the animations for it could be something memorable. Like how a normal spell would be something like a fireball for example but the prime only ability would call down a freaking meteorite ontop of the target.

Speaking about special attack, how about making a special/secret attack for girls archetype based on requirement. For example: A Ranka archetype girl can obtain "Song of the Galaxy" attack if she is a musician class and have maxed out singing stats while other archetype, although have fulfilled the requirement cannot obtain that skill.
